Dentures and Partials
About Dentures
This full restoration for the replacement of missing teeth can be customized to fit a full arch or a partial arch, effectively restoring function and appearance. Dentures that are customized based on the exact physical makeup of the existing jawbone and gum tissue allows a full return to eating all types of foods without worry. Dentures also allow you to speak, smile, and laugh with confidence. Replacing teeth with dentures is ideal for the maintenance of facial structure, since teeth serve as a support to the cheeks. Wearing dentures keeps the cheeks from sinking in and causing an aged appearance.
About Partials
Many patients opt for an implant-supported denture as a way to increase both comfort and stability significantly. A dental implant consists of a small post, made of titanium, and an abutment, which connects the post to an artificial tooth or denture appliance. In placing a few implants into the arch, an artificial root system is created. An implant supported denture can be as simple as two implants in the jaw onto which the denture connects with little snaps. For patients who want a more solid feel, we can connect a denture to a six implant substructure that allows us to remove it only every 3 months for cleaning. These implant-supported designs secure the denture into place without the need for adhesive, promoting a healthy jawbone through constant stimulation similar to a natural tooth root.
